Despite being a older game, that saw a lot of love in Japan in Akibara. The ports of the game for the PC, PS2, and Xbox still hold and captivate me.It is a incredibly fun game with various interesting combat mechanics that can challengeany veteran arcade gamer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zTVV_veF0k Final thoughts? Wisdom is knowing Bridget is a boy for those that play this game.Gamers-Haven[www.gamers-haven.org]. Feels more like an emulation than a port, not picking up fight-stick, hitting esc outright closes the game regardless of menu. More a curio item for fans of the series. Wouldn't reccomend if you just want to play a fighting game.. It feels a bit clunk to the starting of a 1st timer it took me 15 minutes for it to regester my arcade stickand combos drop more at 36 in the air on you 3rd reset for medifficulty 999 was unnesesary and dificulttho easy after 7 tries its e_________e but when you have to press a button to turn around it agitated meif you can make turn around back back it would have been awsome it felt like final fightfun as hell ta play tho it was a bit lacking but all in all I give it a 7-10this was truly awsome bring s back to the clasic feel of of what I used to long forbeat em up hack n slash sidescrolling piece of kick assery thanks I may post combo vids later. I love the game itself but this port is VERY lack luster, and has a lot of tiny little querks that just bug me a lot. Like only being able to use the D-pad, the Esc key IMMEDIATELY exits back to desktop, No new modes no real tutorial. I am really having a hard time making my rating becouse the gameplay itself is good but a bit outdated graphics wise. So Guilty Gear Isuka gets a 5/10. This goes side by side with my review for Metal Slug 3, bad game and bad PC port. Get Guilty Gear X2 instead, it's much better.. This is a bad port. And here is why.SoundHalf the games sound track sounds like some one is playing it on a small radio in another room and dunking it in and out of a tub of water. Other tracks are just fine and yet others are especially quiet. For a Guilty Gear game with such a fantastic soundtrack this is very irritating.Controller SupportController support has been rather hit and miss even for console controller which have become a pretty well supported on the PC platform or who serve as a relatively large demographic of user's with controllers. This is is if you use the in game menu's. You can have more success configuration tool but there isn't a lot of info there that helps you recognize one button from another if you are used to the console version of the game. The button inputs are mearly labeled as the button and a number. This can make mapping without hunting down a guide on the internet very annoying and very trial and error. For a fighting game this shouldn't even be an issue.Big PictureIf you are a controller user you probably also use Big Picture Mode. Guilty Gear Isuka's external configuration tool is a bad habit for anyone who is develeping a game with controller support (or any game for that matter). External launcher's that don't accept controller input need to go. Further frustration is the fact that you have to hit escape to exit the game. The game never tells you this. If you are playing on PC without a controller you would likely stumble across this easliy enough but that is still a big no no in game design whether you are porting or not.Aside From Being A PortThat game is little more than a port and as such has the problems that plagued Guilty Gear Isuka to begin with. The plane switching from the four player combat will no doubt be an issue for some as it can be rather difficult to come to grips with unless you were a hardcore Fatal Fury fan. And know that the AI is setup to exploit that very system to its full potential. Also this is one of the Guilty Gear games that has button turning. That meaning that in order to face left or right you have to actually hit a button to do so. More than this some of the character moves will only work in one direction even if you are oriented correctly to the enemy. This can be very frustrating and a down right deal breaker for those who remember the original Guilty Gear on the PS2.VerdictI would avoid buying this at full price if at all. There are far better ports and far better fighters built specifically for PC on steam that you can spend your money on.. Probably won't be THE VERY BEST Guilty Gear game you'll ever play. Still, I think it gets far more flack than it deserves. Yeah, I suppose turning around and all is a ♥♥♥♥♥ (especially on 1v1 fights) but you get used to it after awhile. The first time I ever got to play this game is when it came here to Steam, and even before that I heard many bad things about it but I found that it was still a pretty fun experience. Not as in-deph as the other games in the series but it can still make for some chaotic fun.. Bad port. Don't buy unless you REALLY want to play some bad resolution single player/local Guilty Gear.
